• Stocks waffle ahead of Fed decision, Boeing shares soar

  U.S. stocks traded cautiously ahead of the Federal Reserve's 2pm decision on interest rates which will be followed by Chairman Powell's press conference which is expected to include an update on inflation and timing on tapering. Investors are also digesting a barrage of earnings from a number of blue chip companies including Apple, Microsoft and Boeing. The plane maker turned a quarterly profit, surprising investors, driving the shares up over 5%.
