New York City will require all education staff, including teachers and principals, to be vaccinated, a mandate that will affect about 148,000 workers.

Under the mandate, every Department of Education employee will be required to have received at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine by Sept. 27, without the option of instead submitting to weekly testing.
