• Dow falls 382 points as Fed minutes signal taper timing

  U.S. stocks sold off sharply following the release of the Federal Reserve's minutes from the July meeting which signaled tapering could come as soon as this year. The Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 fell 1% while the Nasdaq dipped 0.8%. In commodities, oil slid further to the $64 per barrel level.
