• Dow, S&P 500 tick to records in winning week

  U.S. stocks posted modest gains in what was a winning week for the Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 both of which closed at fresh record highs. Investors shrugged off one of the worst readings ever for the University of Michigan's Consumer Sentiment report blamed on rising COVID-19 concerns, as well as two key reports during the week showing higher inflation. In stock news, Disney tacked on 1% after a strong earnings report and Microsoft hit a record high.
