Gen. Mark Milley defended calls he made to China at the end of Donald Trump's term, saying top administration officials were aware of them.

General Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said Mark Esper, the former defense secretary, directed him to call Chinese officials in October.

He and other top defense officials are testifying before the Senate Armed Services Committee.
