The SpaceX Inspiration4 mission splashed down in the Atlantic Ocean off Florida's coast. Its crew of amateur astronauts spent three days in orbit.

The mission went to an altitude of 366 miles, higher than the International Space Station and the Hubble telescope, and an orbital speed of more than 17,000 miles per hour.

Its four-member crew included Jared Isaacman, a 38-year-old billionaire who financed the trip; Sian Proctor, 51, a college professor who became the first Black woman to pilot a space mission; Hayley Arceneaux, 29, a physician assistant; and Christopher Sembroski, 42, a data engineer.
