Tropical Storm Mindy has formed in the Gulf of Mexico and is expected to cross the Florida Panhandle tonight, bringing the threat of flooding.

The tropical storm is the 13th named storm of the 2021 Atlantic hurricane season.

It was producing maximum sustained winds of nearly 40 miles per hour, with some stronger gusts, the National Weather Service said.
