• Nasdaq hits record, Dow slips for 3rd session

  The Nasdaq Composite and S&P 500 clocked gains as September kicks off, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped for the third straight session. Investors traded cautiously ahead of Friday's jobs data and after ADP's private sector report showed just 374,000 positions were added missing estimates by a wide margin.
