• S&P, Dow rise in choppy week after Friday's mixed session

  U.S. investors dialed it down on Friday after a volatile week of swings tied to the uncertainty over Chinese lender Evergrande. The Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 posted modest gains Friday to end the week marginally higher. The Nasdaq Composite ended the day and week little changed. Elsewhere, Costco shares closed at a fresh all-time high, as did Salesforce, which is the tech giant's first at this level in over a year. In commodities, oil closed a few cents shy of $74 per barrel.
