• Dow, S&P, Nasdaq rally nearing fresh records

  All three of the major U.S. averages posted solid gains on Tuesday as investors drove shares of Microsoft, Home Depot and Salesforce to all-time highs. Traders shrugged off weak data on housing starts and permits, instead, pushing 10 of the 11 S&P sectors higher with the exception of consumer discretionary stocks.
