  • Dow falls 240 points, Nasdaq 1.6% as consumer prices surge

    U.S. stocks fell across the board registering the worst session in about a month as inflation jumped to a 31 year high. Energy and technology stocks paced the drop, while defensive utilities and consumer staples inched higher. Electric vehicle maker Rivian jumped 29% in a successful IPO debut. Elsewhere, oil slipped to $81.34 per barrel.
