• Nasdaq jumps 1%, Dow and S&P gain but all three post weekly losses

  U.S. stocks climbed across the board Friday with the Nasdaq Composite jumping 1%, while the S&P 500 edged up 0.72% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 179 points. For the week, however, all three of the major averages lost ground amid concerns about rising inflation. Tech and industrial names paced the gains Friday, while energy fell as oil slipped to the $79 per barrel level.
