• Stocks end mixed after Fed minutes, Nordstrom slammed

  U.S. stocks ended the session mixed with the Dow Jones Industrial Average slipping, while the Nasdaq Composite and S&P 500 posted modest gains. The Federal Reserve, in the minutes of the last meeting, signaled persistant inflation could mean rates come sooner than previously telegraphed. In commodities, oil held at the $78 per barrel level ahead of a key OPEC meeting on December 1. U.S. stock markets are closed for the Thanksgiving holiday and will resume a shortened session on Friday with a 1pm ET close.
