• Apple, S&P hit record, Dow reclaims 36,000

  U.S. stocks rose across the board as the S&P 500 closed at a fresh record high helped in part by large cap tech names including Apple which notched its 24th record close of the year moving closer to the $3 trillion market cap milestone. Energy stocks also jumped as oil crossed back above the $75 per barrel level.
