• Dow slides 318 points as Fed meeting, inflation data loom

  U.S stocks closed at session lows as investors await the next report on inflation, the producer price index, due Tuesday followed by the Federal Reserve's conclusion of its two meeting on Wednesday. Apple slid over 2% but remains within spitting distance of $3 trillion in market value. In commodities, oil settled at $71.29 per barrel.
