• Stocks end higher in choppy session, oil tops $82

  U.S. stocks closed with gains in a choppy session as traders digested the highest inflation surge of consumer prices since 1982 and muted data from the Federal Reserve's Beige Book which signaled supply chain and hiring challenges across the districts. In commodities oil closed at $82.64 per barrel.
