• Stocks rise as 2022 kicks off, Tesla jumps

  U.S. investors kicked off the new trading year on a high note, extending the S&P's 27% 2021 gain. All three of the major averages climbed on Monday led by consumer discretionary and financial stocks. Shares of Tesla soared over 8% after the automaker reported record 4Q deliveries.
