A racial reckoning is happening in America. The voices and perspectives often missing from the conversations are those of children. Are the Kids All Right?: Racism is the latest episode of a new CBS Reports documentary series, and it explores the current cultural discussions around racial discrimination and injustice, giving the kids a voice to answer critical questions about their personal experiences. When do kids apply meaning to racial differences? And is the way they interpret racial diversity defined more by them or their parents, teachers, and other external influences like the media? And to what extent does the messaging about race and racism they receive align with their lived experience? By turning our lens to kids from around the country for their perspectives, CBS Reports got unfiltered answers to those important questions and better understand the impact of the country's racial reckoning on our kids.
