• Stocks mixed as GM weighs on Dow, Tesla lifts Nasdaq, S&P

  U.S. stocks were mixed as the Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped, led by a 4% dip in shares of General Motors after profits declined from the same period a year ago. The Nasdaq Composite and the S&P 500 moved modestly higher aided by Tesla which got a boost after Uber announced plans to offer the electric vehicles, following Hertz. In commodities, oil hovered at the $83 per barrel level.
